Woman Counts: Cancer Detection Programs
Every Woman Counts provides free screening for breast and cervical cancer for age-eligible, low-income and uninsured or underinsured women. Calls are handled in six different languages: English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean, and Vietnamese.
Medi-Cal Care Services
Medi-Cal services implemented the Breast
and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP);
under this program, low-income California residents
who have breast and/or cervical cancer can enroll
at a physician’s office to get no-cost cancer
treatment coverage.

Cancer Early Detection Tests
American Cancer Society provides a
snapshot of state mandated coverage for private
health plans, and Medicare coverage of early
detection services for cervical cancer.

The National Cancer Institute provides information for patients, their families, the general public, and health professionals. Personal, confidential cancer information in English and Spanish, and online assistance can be accessed through the LiveHelp link on the NCI website at www.cancer.gov. Recorded information about cancer is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
