Finding Health Care Coverage in California

This booklet offers information about eligibility for low cost insurance for individuals, families and small businesses. It may be used to accompany California Uninsured Help Line services. An income worksheet is provided to determine eligibility for programs, as well as a listing of available programs. It is available in English and Spanish.

A matrix of health care coverage options for small business owners, individuals and families. It includes monthly income guidelines for coverage and a listing of other sources for information about health coverage. It is available in both English and Spanish.

Fulfilling the Promise: A Roadmap for Meeting the Health Care Needs of the South Los Angeles Community.

This report was released on March 30, 2005 by the Steering Committee on the Future of King/Drew Medical Center. It offers recommendations on how both the County of Los Angeles and Drew University can work together to ensure that the King/Drew Medical Center can achieve its mission of meeting the health care needs of south Los Angeles.

Policy Implications of Racial and Ethnic Differences in Managed Care v. Fee-for-Service Utilization Disparities In California.

The California Pan-Ethnic Health Network finds that most racial/ethnic groups are more likely to have a usual source of care in managed care than FFS; however, they are also more likely to report an ER visit.

Compendium of Cultural Competence Initiatives in Healthcare - Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation 2003
This extensive compendium is a first attempt by the Kaiser Family Foundation to describe cultural competency and cross cultural education in a single document. It was prepared in response to the many requests received from the media and others to define cultural competency and identify efforts underway in this emerging field.
