| On June 29, 2002, representatives
from 41 ethnic physician organizations came together
in Burlingame, California for the First Ethnic Physician
Organization (EPO) Summit. That meeting set the
foundation for an ongoing affiliation of EPOs supported
by the California Medical Association Foundation.
Among the ambitious objectives generated by the
participants of this Summit was a call to hold two
convenings in 2003 with the following objectives:
- Continue the networking begun during the June
Summit.
- Strengthen the infrastructure of the Network
of Ethnic Physician Organizations.
- Enhance community-building skills.
- Disseminate information regarding health care
disparities.
